Busy as an Entrepreneur: Whitening my teeth with Smile Brilliant

Time is always of the essence. Even after planning out my entire week, I still end up procrastinating and rushing to my next destination. As much as I try to complete everything I need to do within the 24 hours that we're all given, it is a challenge for me.

I feel like I never have enough time in my day to do everything I want but it's really all about prioritizing. Doing the most important tasks first and the least important ones last, really helps me to get things done. I also try my best to pace myself. Aside from my business priorities, I also have personal life priorities that don't always get done either. When you're so caught up in your business and meeting deadlines, it's easy to forget to take care of you. You end up missing out on much needed sleep, doctor's appointments and even dentist appointments too. For awhile, I couldn't even tell you the last time I'd been to the dentist. It was actually a little embarrassing. But I soon found time and ironically, stumbled across Smile Brilliant.

What is Smile Brilliant? An at-home teeth whitening system that is used to rid your teeth of coffee stains and discoloration. It takes about 6-7 wears before you see results. You need a minimum of about 45 minutes and a max of 3 hours to let the solution do it's magic. It can conveniently be used while you're working on a project for a client, planning out your months schedule or even taking an online course. The time seems to fly by when you're focusing on something else.

I enjoy the convenience of it because it beats going to the dentist every single time I'm in need of a whitening session. I know we're all eager to have a bright smile especially when we're interacting with people on a daily basis. Who doesn't?

My personal experience:

After sending in my impressions for the second time, they were finally approved! This was about a 3 week process. For some reason, the molding portion was a little difficult for me. Good thing they sent a few containers of clay just in case I had any mess ups.

But after receiving my actual custom-fitted whitening trays, I read through the directions once more to make sure I didn’t do anything wrong. The instructions stated that you had to brush your teeth clean with water to remove any debris before starting the whitening process. Once you’ve done that, you apply a steady ribbon of whitening gel along the front part of your trays. You then insert the trays one at a time on both the top and bottom of your teeth and leave them on for up to 3 hours.

I would set a timer and leave my trays on while I was working or reading a book. It felt kind of weird having the trays in my mouth for such a long period of time. My mouth would also water a lot which I think may have diluted the strength of the gel a little. I always ended up wearing the trays for about 50 minutes to an hour, which really only allowed the tips of my teeth to whiten. But if I used it for a minimum of 2 hours at a time and more consistently throughout the week, I would have seen better results a lot quicker.

After whitening, you had to brush your teeth and then use the desensitizing gel the same way the whitening gel was used for only about 15 to 20 minutes. You would then have to spit out the remainder of the gel that was left and refrain from drinking or eating for at least 30 minutes. This is why it’s recommended to complete the process right before bed.

I enjoy the convenience of it because it beats going to the dentist every single time I'm in need of a whitening session. I know we're all eager to have a bright smile especially when we're interacting with people on a daily basis. Who doesn't?
