Chic Ways to Incorporate Sneakers into your Wardrobe

As a child, I had a slight sneaker fetish. I would beg my mom to take me to the shoe store every month or so to invest in a new pair (she was never having it). But somehow, I got my way and was able to add another pair to my collection.
My biggest pet peeve though, was when my sneakers got dirty. OH MY GAWSH. I hated dirty sneakers with a passion and still do. I wanted them to stay white as long as possible. So when my dad wasn't home (he wouldn't have allowed it if he was home), I'd sneak and throw them in the washing machine to avoid having to scrub them with an old toothbrush. Because I was wearing them basically everyday, they were bound to get dirty, but I wasn't here for it.

As I got older, sneakers kind of disappeared from my everyday wardrobe. I began to think my feet looked huge in any pair that I tried on and all the girls at school were transitioning into wearing heels anyway. I remember one day in high school, I wore a pair of heels to class and almost fell walking down the steps. I vowed to never wear a pair of heels again without bringing a change of shoes with me.
Aside from my mini hiatus from wearing sneakers, my love for the comfortable shoe never died. Once I entered into college and realized how much walking I was doing, I immediately went out and purchased a pair of sneakers to keep my feet from hurting while walking from one size of campus to the other. Since then, sneakers have always been a staple in my wardrobe, for me to throw on when running errands or even for a adventurous night out on the town.
Sneakers aren't only for the gym or playing sports. Over the years, they've made their way onto the feet of countless female celebrities who want to look sporty but still very chic. Keep reading for a few chic ways to incorporate sneakers into your wardrobe.
Wear them with a trouser

This has to be my all time favorite combo. If you know me, then you know I love a tailored look. I'm all for versatility, so being able to wear your "work" clothes in a casual manor is where it's at. By simply mixing work wear with a casual shoe, you look very on trend and put together while still very comfortable.
My ultimate goal when styling my clients is to pull pieces that can be worn in a variety of ways. And to make sure that those pieces are of quality. Most trousers, suit pants and slacks are made to last. So, being able to wear them with a variety of tops and shoes are a plus.
Wear them with your suit

As I mentioned above, a trouser pant and a sneaker are my go to. But imagine having a matching jacket? The possibilities are endless! It's an effortless look that looks what? Put together.
Pair them with a dress

Anybody remember Lily Allen? And how could I forget, Betsy Johnson. These women were dress and sneaker wearing queens who didn't care what the fashion police had to say. And it looks like they were on to something.
Sneakers and dresses are the perfect balance between girly and tom-boy chic. When you want to show off some leg but haven't gotten a pedicure in a few weeks, a dress and your favorite pair of sneakers are the perfect combination.
Rock them with a skirt

Want an easy way to instantly look cool and comfy? Pair your skirt with sneakers and there you have it! When you want to look sexy but sporty for a day party or brunch, this is the perfect combo.
