How Vision Boards Lead you to Success

Some people believe that vision boards are only to be created in the beginning of the year to pin point your years resolutions, but I on the other hand completely disagree!

How many of you are visual learners? *raises hand* Since I was a child, I've always had a fun imagination. I would wake up out of my sleep and vividly remember every single detail of my dreams as if they actually happened. It was kind of scary. But as I got older, my dreams turned into ideas and they just kept coming. Every time I thought of something new, I'd wrote it down so that I wouldn't forget.

Ironically, I forget a lot of things with all of these new ideas popping into my head on a daily so, if I don't write things down, they don't get done.

I soon realized that every idea that I was writing down was literally just an idea. I wasn't executing them because of fear, not having the resources to start or just not knowing where to start. So, on top of writing my ideas down, I began to use my creativity as well to bring them to life on paper. And when I mean bring them to life, I mean with pictures. It's one thing writing something down, but it's another thing sourcing an actual image that represents what you want to accomplish in your life.

From vision boards, to mood boards and brand boards, these image driven visuals allow you to see your thoughts and ideas. And as small business owners, like ourselves, its been said that creating vision boards is a great practice that helps us to actually meet our entrepreneurial goals. Images are powerful and for those of us who have the opportunity to visualize our financial and business goals on a daily are more confident that we will achieve them as opposed to people who don't. We originally started our businesses because we had a vision, right? So why not push forward with those plans and keep your eyes and mind on the big picture; literally.

As a millennial growing up with social media, visuals are everything. Pinterest is a prime example. It's an app designed around images and visual ideas. Searching just one idea can lead to a whole other pool of images and relate-table content. The app even allows to create your own "vision boards" with the images that you like or can relate to.

By visualizing our goals, we're forcing our brains to focus on them more which makes them more realistic and possible. With all the words, images and objects, we're "immersing ourselves in our goals, in a multi-sensory, experimental way, through words, ideas, vision and feeling". It's important for your goals to be detailed and specific to help increase the realistic-ness of it.

When creating MY vision boards, I make sure that they portray a message of what I want to accomplish in my life. Whether it be financial stability or to travel more, I want my vision board to be exactly what I think about on a daily. The topics I like to focus on are:

1. My brand and what it represents (if you don't have a brand yet, then think about you and what you represent)

2. My mantra or a positive affirmation or words

3. What I want out of life

4. My favorite colors or the colors of my brand

5. Things I want to accomplish in life

These topics will be the same topics I'll focus on when teaching you how to create the perfect vision board that will lead you down the right paths to success!

I created The Goal Digger Workshop to help hard working entrepreneurs, like myself, to create a visual that represents where they plan to go in life. I want so much out of life, but it can be easy to lose sight of your end goal when your journey can be so challenging.
