Spring Trends of 2018

Spring has sprung! I think. The weather has been so wishy washy these past couple of weeks and I'm actually pretty tired of it. Like, when will the weather officially break? I haven't even transitioned my closet over yet because I'm afraid that once I do, I'll need to pull my sweaters back out.

Aside from the bipolar weather, Spring is one of my favorite seasons next to fall. It's not too cold and it's not too hot, but just right. I love layering, as you can see, so if the weather allows it, I'm a happy camper.

I conjured up a list of spring trends that I've seen consistently on and off the runway and wanted to let you guys in on it. If you're anything like me, I'm sure you've already got a list of spring outfits you've been thinking about in your head. If not, keep reading for some fun inspiration to get you started.

Black/white check blazers

I'm definitely a blazer girl, so I'm all for this trend. My mom actually found me a Ralph Lauren check blazer at the thrift store for just $12. At the time, I didn't know it would be on trend but I took it home because it was a blazer AND it was designer. I couldn't pass it up; especially at that price.

The check blazer can be styled so many different ways but looks best with ripped jeans and a tee shirt with either sneakers or a heel. It even looks great layered over a hoodie. Especially with the type of weather we've been having here in Baltimore. Very simple, comfy and classic.

Fanny packs

I still haven't found one that I like but then again, I haven't really been looking. I like this trend but, it's not really for me. I'm the type of girl that feels empty when there is nothing in my hand or on my shoulder. It looks great on everyone else though.

I've seen many celebs successfully rock this trend with a blazer dress, sweats and even dresses. It's a cute accessory for a day or night out on the town. I may just actually give it a try if that Gucci one ever goes on sale haha.

Co-ordinates

Co-ordinates are my all time favorite. Since I adore suits, its like the spring/summer time version that can be worn with sandals, flats and sneakers.

They're super easy to wear because you don't have to think about what top or bottom to wear with them. All the hard work is done for you. Did I mention how comfy they were?

Slip dresses

I only own a few of these but I need more! Slip dresses are super easy for the summer. Because of the material, they can go from day to night with just a change of your shoes and accessories.

The best looking ones are sort of long and fitted to the body with a split. The lace detailing makes it sexy but still very tasteful. You can even layer a sweater over top for those cooler nights out.

White ankle boots

History repeats itself and so does fashion trends. Who remembers these white boots from the 70's? Most of us probably weren't even born back then. These boots were definitely a hot commodity but with a platform. Because of the color, they can be worn with literally everything. Just replace your white sneakers with these and you're good to go.

I haven't found a pair that I love yet but I'm sure I will by the time summer comes around.

Pastels

Pastels have always been a thing for the spring. The clean, soft palettes are perfect for any outfit.

I personally love mixing pastels with either black or gray but you can never go wrong with a monochromatic look. Super easy and chic. An all pastel look will go great with a pair of white boots!

Sheer

Sheer clothing has always been in style but not like this. The runways were filled with mesh and sheer looks for any occasion and anybody. From skirts, to tops, this material is extremely versatile and risque.

I would wear this trend with a tee shirt and jeans, or underneath a dress as seen below. There are countless ways to wear this trend and it fits almost any woman's style; edgy, girly, sporty and sophisticated.

What are you favorite trends for this spring?
